CAMILO OLIVEIRA, San Paulo, Brazil

Camilo Oliveira is a self taught artist who began experimenting in lettering, figures and compositions with graffiti in 1997 under the name Milo Tchais, actively painting and living in San Paulo, Brazil, until 2001 when he relocated to London. Most recently he created a project called 'UntanglingLifeBuds' emphasizing in shapes, colour contrasts and textures through an abstract figurative approach. 'It was about a lively experience in the world, relating to nature, mind and it's movements, ways of manifesting". Strong colours and lines may form a figure or landscape.
In compositions with physical and mental aspects, elements blends, transforms and stands out as the eye moves through the image. Giving a sense of all being some how connected. Sometimes making use of abandoned urban structures as a medium to apply his work, symbolizing regeneration and the sprouting of life in forgotten, 'dead' city spaces. In a simplistic way, celebrating the unity of everything, Pacifying the viewer with flowing continuous lines, relating to human behaviours and the coexistence of the cosmos and beings.
